Gloomy Day, Bright Colors!

Breakfast of dieting artists!

Egg White, Tex-Mex chili, sm. apple, corn flakes, skim milk

Hearty, well rounded, portions are truly smaller than they appear!

I wonder if you remember these pen drawings from my cone flower garden this summer? I received the most fantastic complement (best to date!) in my Flickr album from Jane LaFazio for the across-the-page composition.

...F-I-N-A-L-L-Y got around to adding watercolor to them last night!

...not sure if I'm finished yet! Thought I was, but seeing them on the computer screen makes me wonder if background color would enhance the appearance or detract from the vibrancy? Decisions, decisions!
A Rose is a Rose
I wonder, too, if you remember my "Rose" small art quilt?
While I am absolutely in love with it...it did not garner much attention at the show in early October...
...so I changed it up and made it a lap or baby quilt! It can still be displayed on the wall, of course, but going from approximately 16 x 20 to 24 x 30 may draw a larger appeal!

One example of the type item I create from scraps of all sizes!
And...you may also remember this project I began using fabric remnants of all sizes from my scrap bin. I was teaching myself to "crazy quilt" and "quilt as you go" at the same time on the same item! It was going to be a table runner to protect my antique side board from scrapes and dings.
But it too wanted to be larger! This eclectic vibrant collection of fabrics grew up to be another lap/baby quilt! and would also look nice as a wall hanging!
I am working on 2 others at this time and will post about them at a later date.
Have a wonderful day folks. See you soon.

  3. Very fun to look through. And a feast for the eyes was a really accurate statement. I agree. Enjoyed looking through your images. Keep up the good work!
