Embroidery Thread Question =)

Hi Friends! Can anyone tell me if thread that is labeled: punch embroidery thread, can be used for traditional hand or machine sewing?

I have an opportunity to purchase a large quantity for a very small price and don't know if it's usable for hand sewing? I appreciate any direction you can give me! Thanks!
