a new beginning

I've been doing some soul searching recently...asking myself serious questions about my current life, health and lifestyle, fulfillment..things like that.

Mothers Day Orchid about to make a second appearance!
Then I noticed the potted orchid my daughter had given me for mothers day 2011...I had placed it near the back door wall along with some other items I planned to discard...hadn't gotten around to it yet...
I was taking photographs of my workspace and a few current projects and I saw that new buds were forming! What a thrill!
I can't explain exactly how or why, but I felt a surge of HOPE!!!
I've been stressing, pondering and meditating over these deep, dark and heavy questions--fretting about drawing the perfect answer from within myself--quickly!!!! when this incredible thing happened: just seeing these tiny buds, the new beginnings of exquisite blooms, quietly reformulating while they sat at deaths door--literally (!) filled me with peace and hope.

I have no formal art training and not enough free time in sight to even consider enrolling in a program or even a simple class. And I guess that bothers me so much because I have a never-ending stream of idea's and "things" I want to do...need to create...but just don't see how to bring this all to fruition in the foreseeable future.
The orchid buds have brought a new sense of calm to my state of mind...gonna relax, do what makes me happy and take "it" all in stride.

  1. I know exactly how you feel, it's so hard to find time just for YOU in our busy lifes. Enjoy each minute of your creative side, it's such a joy. The orchid reblooming is an omen - something beautiful is just around the corner.

  2. Wishing you more peace and calm. We have several of those orchids and they go through periods when they look dead, then they rebloom again and again over the years. Just like us!
