Here comes the sun

It seems like it's been raining here for more than a week...but the sun is shining brightly today. It's cool and crispy, typical autumn, too bad I'm going to be working!

Speaking of working...I may be on the upside of this change...finally! It's taken so much longer than I expected, but my system may be finally adjusting rather than rebelling to the change in work shift. Fingers still crossed!!
I took on too much for sure--shows, volunteer activities, deadlines for art submissions, etc. Then my daughter moved out...again...she's an adult, but had been staying with me 90% of the time for almost a year. She moved out again and I think I experienced a little bit of "empty nest" depression...again!!! Well, I'm over it!
I started cleaning house again 2 days ago--I mean REALLY cleaning house, as in decluttering! I moved some of my work area's and I'm making a to-do list AND a to-buy's a great motivator, having a goal of purchasing items for my work area.

I am researching sewing machines.
I have a wonderful refurbished and previously owned (twice) Janome and I LOVE it. It's been a huge step up from my original machines and I've learned so much from it.
But now I want to find a machine that can move from straight stitch to zig-zag and other decorative stitches without having to manipulate (manhandle!) a huge nob that hurts my hand.
Any opinions/suggestions completely welcome--tell me what you have and why you love it or would choose differently. Thanks for your input!

  1. Love your leaves. Our autumn is fog then some sun, palm trees staying green all year - I would love to watch the tree colors turn.
