My very FIRST boho bag

I'm not a pattern follower...even though I begin with "following" in mind, I usually (always) veer away adjusting and tweaking and essentially making it my own...

this fantastic bag--oh yes, I'm so proud of it!! began as a pattern from the amazing bohemianni! art blog where I won a free pattern. I LOVE LOVE LOVE bohemianni's bags and her pattern is super easy to understand and follow (if one is capable of doing so!!!) the pattern is very detailed with lots of pictures and descriptions and plenty of offers to email with questions AND they are for sale on her sight.

these are pictures of the very first bag I completed using her wonderful pattern and idea's...and every one of my favorite fabrics...at least for now!!

 ...batiks, velvets, some painted muslin...

...also I'm finally learning some of the nuances of my new sewing machine...finally!!!

...the picture above was taken before I cut the hanging trim at an angle...I think it looks better now than that squared-off version...
...so very eclectic, very free-form bohemian...

...very....ME!!!!

  5. Thanks for the compliment, VG--so nice to meet you! I had already started putting some of these fabrics together but didn't have a true purpose until I won the pattern, then it sort of all came together. I'm so happy she likes it--can't wait to see yours--please post when you're ready! I'm coming over to visit your blog now =)

    1. Thanks so much!! I actually do have a few more in the works right now--started playing with some tapestry fabrics I've been saving for just this sort of project. I'm also cutting up and repurposing "bags" I made a while ago that I wasn't completely happy with--now I'm gonna bohemianni!ize them!!!
